Compare features

Jackrabbit Class, iClassPro, and Studio Pro bill class tuition. Several school platforms also offer makeup classes, camps, skill report cards, and recital or ticketing tools. Rovari’s multi-week courses can cover a camp or term, and its program levels support readiness and assessments. Rovari also supports owner-enabled makeup-credit policies with issue dates, eligible classes, caps, expiry, and staff permissions. Staff issue each credit, then the member or current guardian chooses an eligible replacement class in the web portal; cancellations and eligible moves respect the credit’s original terms. Credits are not awarded automatically and are not cash or a transferable balance. Skill report cards, recital, costume, and ticketing workflows remain outside Rovari’s current scope.[5, 37, 16, 38, 2, 39, 13, 40, 41]

Spark Membership

US/Canada recurring cards use Spark’s integrated merchant setup; elsewhere it directs schools to Stripe where supported. Other processors support manually logged payments.[26, 22]

Why we built Rovari

We built Rovari so owners and staff can keep memberships, billing, visits, retail, and follow-up together as they run a gym, studio, or school.

When a household needs separate payers

A family shares a membership, then needs separate billing. You need to agree the new prices and keep each person’s member record.

Staff review who each payer will cover and the prices for the next billing period. The current payer approves the change; the new payer accepts their price and adds a card. Member records stay in place, and earlier bills stay with the original account.

Classes and open gym

Some members book a class. Others come in to use the gym floor. Your front desk needs to check both kinds of visit against the member’s access.

Rovari records class attendance and general visits without a class booking. The countertop check-in station needs an internet connection and staff supervision. It does not control doors for unstaffed entry.

Following up with new inquiries

Someone asks about joining. A staff member needs to take responsibility for the reply, with a record of contact so the next person can pick up the work.

Rovari gives staff an assigned follow-up list. Record calls and emails made outside Rovari against the follow-up. Member conversations have their own inbox. Automated outreach and marketing campaigns need a separate tool.

Jackrabbit Class and Rovari

What Jackrabbit Class offers

Class management software for tuition-based youth programs: online registration, class enrollment and waitlists, tuition posting with integrated ePayments, a Parent Portal, attendance, skills tracking, events, camps, recitals, and a store. A custom-branded app is sold as Jackrabbit Plus.[1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Card and ACH processing fees are set by the ePayment partner. Jackrabbit Plus adds a $169 setup fee and app store fees. Twilio sub-account texting adds setup, monthly, and message fees for active paid US/Canada accounts; other regions need separate setup confirmation.[4, 9]

How Rovari handles this
Rovari records who pays, who can act as a guardian, and who can collect a child as separate roles. Guardians sign a child’s waivers in the portal. A pickup contact gets no portal or billing access from that role.
Ask to see this in a demo
Ask them to post one month’s tuition for a family with two students in different classes, run a scheduled ePayment batch, and show what staff see when a card declines and when a bank draft is returned days later.

iClassPro and Rovari

What iClassPro offers

Class, camp, and event registration with recurring tuition billing, a parent Customer Portal and app, skill tracking, makeup tokens, a check-in kiosk, POS with inventory, and Autopilot workflows. Party booking, appointments, an integrated website, and Pro Insights depend on plan tier.[10, 11, 12, 13]

US online payments require iClassPro Payment Services: cards 2.9% (AmEx 3.5%), eCheck 1%, plus $0.50 per transaction and $10 monthly gateway/eCheck fees each. Foreign cards, returns, chargebacks, and voice authorization add fees. Branded app: $499 setup plus $150/month; Growth Engine: $59/month. US/Canada texts cost $0.03 per credit; country and message length affect the total.[10, 14, 15]

How Rovari handles this
In Rovari’s member portal, a payer sees their own billing account and invoices. A guardian can book and sign for a child without seeing another payer’s invoices.
Ask to see this in a demo
Ask them to run the Automated Billing (Monthly) workflow for a family with two students in different classes, then show a declined card, the family’s notice, and the overdue-balance follow-up. Then mark a student absent and show the makeup token being issued and redeemed.

Studio Pro and Rovari

What Studio Pro offers

Class registration, tuition Auto-Pay, payment processing, POS, parent/staff apps, recital and costume tools, and ticketing. Elite adds lead management and workflows; its two-way SMS and 3,000 monthly texts are for US/Canada studios.[16, 17, 18, 19, 20]

Native US card rates start at 2.66% + $0.25; a connected third-party processor adds 1.35% plus its own fees. Rates vary by country. Branded app: $69/month, $169 setup, and Apple’s $99 yearly fee. Calls, extra texts, and $2 per ticket cost extra.[16, 20, 18, 19]

How Rovari handles this
Rovari registers a student for a whole multi-week course with one shared roster and dated sessions. A course can be free or carry one fee. Course sessions can’t be booked one at a time, and courses have no waitlist.
Ask to see this in a demo
Ask them to post a month’s tuition for a family with two students on Auto-Pay, run the batch with one card failing, and show what the parent receives and how staff collect the balance.

Spark Membership and Rovari

What Spark Membership offers

Spark Membership combines a CRM with belt history and family accounts, recurring billing through Spark Payments, two-way SMS, and a member app. The payment provider depends on country; Ignite adds managed marketing.[21, 22, 23]

US/Canada automatic billing uses Spark’s integrated merchant setup; elsewhere Spark directs schools to Stripe where supported. Bank drafts need a separate VeriCheck account and fees. Text credits, Ignite, and a white-label app cost extra; confirm regional rates and currencies. The branded app requires your own Apple developer account.[24, 25, 26, 27, 28]

How Rovari handles this
Rovari gives staff an assigned follow-up list for inquiries, with outside calls and emails recorded against it. Automated marketing emails, texts, and campaigns need a separate tool.
Ask to see this in a demo
Run a belt test: show who meets the class and day requirements, promote the group, and collect testing fees. Then put a family membership on hold and show the next charge after it ends.

How Rovari handles this
Rovari previews a member import so you can fix flagged rows before approving it. Supported paid-through dates carry over. Saved cards don’t transfer, and a list shows which payers still need to add one.
Ask to see this in a demo
Set class and days-at-rank requirements, build a belt test from the candidate list, and collect testing fees. Then freeze one student in a family with a return date and show the family’s billing.

Zen Planner and Rovari

What Zen Planner offers

Zen Planner Studio combines memberships, billing, scheduling, and attendance. It also offers belt and rank tracking for programs that use levels.[35]

Website and Engage bundles and other add-ons have separate prices. Confirm your member tier, currency, package, and processing terms.[36]

How Rovari handles this
Rovari uses your own program and level names, with progression optional. Staff review attendance, time at a level, and assessments before recording advancement.
Ask to see this in a demo
Use your actual level requirements. Show how a member attending more than one program earns credit and how staff review readiness.

Other platforms to consider

These platforms aren’t in the feature comparison. Their advertised prices are listed for reference.

  • ClassJuggler

Dance, gymnastics, swim, martial arts, and music schools.[223]

From $44.95/month, rising $5 for each additional 150 students, plus an annual maintenance fee after the first year.[224, 223]

  • Akada

    Dance studios.

One flat price of $60 a month with all features.[225]

  • Sawyer

Children’s activity businesses, from small teams to franchises.

Launch is $79 a month billed monthly, or $71 billed annually. It requires Sawyer’s marketplace, with a 30% fee on marketplace bookings; processing and applicable booking fees are separate.[226]

  • MyStudio

Martial arts studios and enrichment programs.

Essentials is $79 a month for one location, with no student limit.[227]

What to check before switching

Use the same cases and requirements with every vendor, including Rovari.

  1. Bring one difficult case from your business: a household split, a pause across a paid period, or a declined renewal. Ask to see the complete outcome, including member access and the next invoice.

  2. Compare the ongoing subscription at your actual member and location count, required add-ons, processing rates and fixed fees, messaging allowances, setup costs, and contract or cancellation terms.

  3. Check which records you can move in and out, who must add a card again, and when the old system stops charging. Try a sample export and check the first bills before moving everyone.

  4. Confirm the country, currency, payment methods, door hardware, and specialist features your business needs. Ask to see the specific tasks your team handles before choosing a platform.
